AVG or Cloud anti-virus software?

I want to try out new anti-virus software such as AVG and Cloud. How do I install one for testing and then try the other one? Do I install, remove, then install again? How does the sequence go? Thanks.

The sequence should be something like this:

  1. Download
  2. Make your PC standalone, no Internet connection
  3. Uninstall old software
  4. Install new product
  5. Hook up the Internet
  6. Check for updates for new product
