Problem with configuration after changing from DSL to T1

Our IP addresses were setup in DSL in 2003. We upgraded to T1 recently and a new T1 modem came with it. This means a new set of IP, subnet, gateway, DNS for the T1. We are still using our old Cisco PIX firewall but now our T1 cannot communicate with our firewall. Do we have to reconfigure our firewall?

Yes, reconfiguration is required for all IP addresses on your network. This means all subnets, gateways, DNS on the public side of PIX needs to change.

But if you have been using a private address space on your LAN 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x or 172.16-31.x.x then you do not need to change the IP addresses. If your network is always private, then there is no need to use the public side. If you have setup the network address translation (NAT) for your PIX, then the local IP addresses do not need to be changed. Hope this answer helps!
