Difference between ASP & DASD?

Can anybody let me know the difference between ASP & DASD? Is there any difference in their functionality & is there any relation between these two.

All the data what you have is the DASD – Direct Access Storage Device. Whereas ASP is area of DASD & a part of it – Auxiliary Storage Pool. There can be multiple ASPs in one single DASD.
