No mail coming from mail server to workstations

I have a problem recently from a subnet (192.168.12.0). User workstations are not able to retrieve or send emails from/to the email server. The workstations can get access to the Internet. I checked the access list. There are 50 subnets or VLANs and I tried to extend ping but no results. I have reset my mail server but still no results. I have wireshark to analyze. I'm at my wit's end.

Troubleshoot with both mail server and one of the affected workstations using wireshark. Try to send data and see how data is from both sides.

Try telnet to the mail port and share the results.

Determine the MAC addresses in the packets. Are they coming from the DMZ firewall? Try to analyze the packets at the mail server and compare with a client at the VLAN.

Another possible cause is that particular subnet itself. Compare the settings with documented settings and/or with another subnet.
